Fawn Mckay

Fawn McKay's birthplace was Ogden Utah on September 15 1915. Fawn was a part of the Mormon church's most prestigious family, was able to combine her literary abilities and outstanding research skills to create a stunning biography of Joseph Smith. No Man Knew My History appeared in 1945. That title was taken from a funeral speech delivered by the founding father of the Church of Latter-Day Saints in 1844. He shocked his listeners by declaring"You don't even know me." and you've never known my heart. No man knows my history. I'm not able to tell my story. Fawn an older woman, aged 29 said: "Since that moment of truthfulness, three or more writers have taken on the challenge." Some have deified and abused his character, whereas others attempt to identify the cause. The problem isn't that there aren't enough documents but they're rather divergent. The task of assembling the documents, of separating firsthand accounts from third-hand plagiarism of fitting Mormon as well as non-Mormon stories into a mosaic that makes an authentic history. It's both thrilling and instructive. Fawn Brodie's career was devoted to this aim. Thaddeus Stevens. Stevens is immortalized in her work and the fruits of her studies. "The Devil's Road" (1959) The Slaughter of the South. Thomas Jefferson. Richard Nixon and An Intimate historical history (1974).
