Zoe Saldana is the child of Asalia Saldana and Aridio Nazario. Her birthplace was in Passaic (New Jersey) on 19th June 1978. She was born in Passaic, New Jersey to Asalia Nazario and Aridio Saldana. Her parents raised her within Queens, New York. Her family relocated from Queens, New York, to the Dominican Republic when she was 10, and lived in the Dominican Republic for 7 years. Zoe began to develop a fascination to dance while in Dominican Republic. She began training at ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy in which she was able to study dance and various forms of dance. The training she received was not just a great opportunity for this energetic and eager young person, but was also an excellent way to prepare her for an acting career. Zoe and her family returned back to America with Zoe at the age of 17. United States with Zoe at 17, and her passion for dancing and theatre performance increased. Zoe is not just able to hold her own in major motion picture projects, but has also earned admiration and respect from industry insiders such as Jerry Bruckheimer and Steven Spielberg and actresses/actors like Tom Hanks, Bernie Mac, Keira Knightley, Ashton Kutcher, Kirsten Dunst and Orlando Bloom.
