Rosalia Vila Tobella[2] (born 25 September 1992),[3] known mononymously as Rosalia (Spanish: [rosa'li.a], Catalan: [ruz@'li.@]),[4][5][6] is a Spanish singer. She was born in Barcelona and has been described as an "atypical popstar" due to her many musical styles. [9] After being enthralled by Spanish folk music when she was thirteen, she studied musicology at the Catalonia College of Music while playing at music bars and weddings.She was able to complete her studies with distinction due to her album of cover songs that she collaborated together with Raul Refree, Los Angeles (2017), and the baccalaureate project El Mal Querer (2018). The project reinvented flamenco and mingled it with pop and hip-hop music. The singles "Malamente", and "Pienso En Tu Mira" were hugely popular with the Spanish populace and won all-encompassing critical acclaim. El Mal Querer was the first to bring Rosalia to the international stage. Rosalia's albums of 2019 "Con Altura" (13) and "Yo Ti Tu x Mi" (12-13) were pioneers in the field of urbano music, and achieved international popularity. She introduced reggaeton to a new twist on her third album Motomami (2022) which departed from the brand new flamenco sound of the album that preceded it. With the singles "La Fama,"" and "Saoko" The album was a big success across the globe and was named the best-reviewed album of the year by Metacritic. Rosalia has scored ten number one songs in the course of her career in her home country. It's the highest number for an artist hailing from the region. Rosalia has been awarded eleven Latin Grammy Awards, two Grammy Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards as well as four MTV Europe Music Awards and three UK Music Video Awards, and two Premio Ruido Awards. In the year 2019 Billboard gave her the Rising Star Award for "changing the style of popular music with her innovative flamenco-influenced pop",[18] and became the first Latino-singing group in the history of music to be nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards. Grammys Rosalia was born on 25 September 1992 in Sant Cugat del Valles and raised in Sant Esteve Sesrovires,[20][21][22] Baix Llobregat, Catalonia. She was born into an unartistic family and is the youngest child of Pilar Tobella who runs a small family business that specializes in metalworks. Jose Manuel Vila, her father, was born in Cudillero. They divorced in 2019. She has a younger sister Pilar Vila ("born 1989") is her stylist and creative mind. Rosalia showed an interest in performing arts from an early age, especially after discovering the discography of Camaron de la Isla. At the Taller de Musics, she began her music education. She completed a six-year course in the academy. She began at the Raval school, but later moved to the Superior School of Music of Catalonia. Additionally, she performed on her own, singing at weddings, bars for music and other occasions. She was paid "a barely over 80 euros or as a payment for dinner".
